"Tiger Trouble", from the 1960 syndicated cartoon series, The Nutty Squirrels Present. The series was based on the Nutty Squirrels, a musical novelty act (similar to Alvin and the Chipmunks) created in the late 1950's by Don Elliott and Sascha Burland.

  • Still seems a little of a tease that it's all about finding ways to import European (possible of the Soviet Bloc) cartoons in the states.

  • This was done quite a bit for TV in the late 1950'a and early 1960's. Two other examples were the Capt'n Sailorbird package of cartoon shorts and the Bozo's Cartoon Storybook package.

  • This is a great cartoon, because 1) the theme music is totally far out, daddio, 2) the hunter has a weird absurdity hanging off of his face, and 2) the cartoon states the first law of the jungle - always take a little nap at noon. If American workers did this, they would be twice as productive. Socialism and powerful labor unions RULE!!!!!

  • They're nothing.

  • This is so absurd on so many levels! Great stuff, I want to see more.

  • Actually, nuttin'.

  • Fima Noveck, recut foreign films for Stateside auds." He was the president of Flamingo Telefilm Sales, which imported a lot of Eastern European, Zagreb, Russian, British, Japanese and Chinese cartoons to the U.S. He recut most of them to five minutes added narrations in English and syndicated them under the Flamingo Films logo to TV stations in the late fifties and early sixties as part of the "Wrangler's Cartoon Club" and "Nutty Squirrels Presents" programs.

  • The Nutty Squirrels were created to feed off the popularity ot Alvin and the Chipmunks. These were made circa 1960-61, when Alvin was riding high in the popularity. The Nutty Squirrels even had a hit single at the time titled UH-OH. A blatant ripoff off the Chipmunks that didn't last.

  • actually this wasn't the original alvin and the chipmunks. some dumbasses rushed so they could get their show on tv before the chipmunks got there. however, this show had terrible success and was beat by the chipmunks, who have great success.

  • this cartoon is rather wierd :-/ It's called the Nutty Squirrels but they don't appear in the cartoon just the intro.... They don't even narrate the cartoon. Perhaps the idea of "nutty" characters? Naaah they why squirrels? I didn't see ANY relation between the the squirrel characters and the characters in the rest of the animation. Can somebody please describe me the concept of this cartoon? No wonder the squirrels didn't last long :-P

  • copyers!

    no offence

  • no the nutty squirrels was a copy off of alvin and the chipmunks... made by different creators. the nutty squirrels came out a few years before the chipmunks tv show but a little their songs.
