Aerobiz for PlayStation (PSOne) by KOEI.

Aerobiz '96 was released for PlayStation in 1996 (duh). It's basically the same game for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo systems, but with updated 3d graphics, soundtrack, and minor changes. It was only released in Japan and sadly never ported over to other game territories. This game was also ported to the Sega Saturn. Aerobiz '96 was also the last Aerobiz released for any system (not including the re-released Best Series).

「エアーマネジメント'96」は、過酷な競争が日々繰り広げられている空港業界が舞台です。プレイヤーは創設されたばかりの空港会社の社長です。プレイステーションはてしない空に広がる、エアーラインネットワーク。

  • After seeing a few videos of the very first Aerobiz, I now know full well that Aerobiz '96 is essentiall a 3D remake of the first Aerobiz. I LOVE that Pacific theme! I guess the first one won't appeal to me much because you only have a certain number of cities to choose from, compared to the many you can choose from in Aerobiz Supersonic. My airline in Aerobiz '96 would be that blue one with the yellow star- my official colors for my online work! Great video post educating us on this title.

  • @JohnMarineTube If you haven't played the first Aerobiz I highly recommend it so you can see where Supersonic has improved. I still feel partial to the first Aerobiz as it is what got me into the series. Without the first one there would be no Supersonic nor Aerobiz '96. This is also why Koei should make a sequel or at least a Supersonic 2.0 -- with the ability to place your HQ in all cities.

Thank you very much for your comments.

  • Wow, what a shame that this game was never released outside Japan. I loved Aerobiz Supersonic on the SNES & would've purchased this game for my PS1 in a heartbeat had KOEI only released it in the U.S.

  • @drshagstein

Yeah it's a shame. I loved Supersonic, though I wished you could do the hub and spoke system for all cities, not just major ones. It's ridiculous. We have direct flights from TYO to HNL in the real world, but in supersonic that was never possible. You could do that leg in the first one.

If you are familiar with the first iteration of Aerobiz, this Japanese remake shouldn't be hard to navigate for those not adept with the language. Thanks for your comment.

what i hated of the other version is the amount of routes that one could open.

  • Haha I did not know there was an updated version of Aerobiz, this is sweet! I especially like the way the music is redone ie Paris 6:30! Too bad I can't read Japanese :'(
