Your Rights at Work -- A Message to Jason Wood MP

Sam McCrone:
"We've got messages here from the community that we want to deliver to Jason Wood and we're going to do this, we're going to stick our little post-it notes, just like their post-it notes but these have been paid for by ourselves and not by the taxpayer.

So get out your messages and let's give them to Jason Wood.

He's out of touch with working families."

Sam McCrone:
"We don't need to spend the hundreds of millions of dollars that the Liberal Party have spent of our money on trying to sell us a policy that we know is bad for our wages, our conditions. It's bad for our future.

We're here to show Jason Wood that the local community is not happy about these laws and once again he has refused to see us. On every occasion we have come here to give him a message, he has refused to see us.

He is picking and choosing who in the community he talks to and he is only talking to the people that agree with his position.

This is a democracy and the people of La Trobe deserve to be heard and what they are telling Jason Wood is that they don't like these laws because they are bad for Australia."

Katie Hall:
"O.K. everyone, well thanks for coming, this will be our last event, our last attempt to communicate with Jason Wood prior to the election. But what we're going to do is we're going to start communicating with voters in the last week of the election.

We've already knocked on about four thousand doors, so let's keep knocking on those doors. We're going to head back to the office and go out door knocking this afternoon and let local voters know that Jason Wood has voted twenty three times for these IR laws.

Thanks everyone."

Katie Hall:
"I'm Katie I'm the coordinator of the Rights at Work campaign. I'm incredibly proud of what this community's managed to do over the last sixteen months.

We've managed to get around two hundred and fifty local volunteers to campaign against the work laws, which has been an extraordinary effort and we've become like our own political party campaigning for fair work laws.

So hopefully we have a victory on Saturday week."

Written, Filmed, Edited, Produced and Directed by Adam Basile.

  • was it fun wasting the day??

  • These laws should be seen for what they are. A penalty on people who have to work hard for their living. They are about advantaging people who already have the advantage and they should be abolished by the new government

  • Hope all you moron unionists realise that you won't have a job let along whinging about working conditions with Labor in power.

  • Given John Howard has sort to align Australia more closely with US business practices and the "Your Rights at Work" campaign is about opposing that process what are you saying we should praise the govt for given you clearly think the US is worse off than Australia?
