This video released by Japan's Institute of Cetacean Research (ICR) shows the Sea Shepherd vessel ramming the Kaiko Maru.

The Kaiko Maru is a dedicated sighting vessel. It is NOT equiped with any harpoon gun and does NOT pose any threat for whales. Yet, Sea Shepherd harassed this research ship for 3 hours, throwing bottles of butyric acid (NOT rotten butter) and other chemicals onto the Kaiko Maru's deck and then rammed it.

Japanese research on cetacean in the Southern Ocean is completely legal under the terms of the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling (article 8).

  • Tree huggers...

  • WE WILL NEVER STOP!!

  • isanatori, why was the "dedicated sighting vessel" tailing them then?

  • fuck all of those whalers who fight against the sea shepherds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • good they deserved it. i hope they die. fuck japs they can die all of them i agree with the comment below me 100%

  • Like we car, You fucking japs suck, shame we didn't destroy your whole country at the end of WW2

  • @rhemity LOL! So yeah, the Southern Ocean is around the Antarctic continent which belongs to no one as the Antarctic Treaty freezes every territorial claim on it. So, yeah, you just proved that you can't understand this. Anyway, all that talk about environment impact assessment was just a way to change the subject, wasn't it?

  • @isanatori And where is the southern Ocean lol enough said you cant keep going you cant counter what i have put foward with proof you fail to see the japans fault and feel like backing them just for the sake of causing argument this is becoming pointless as i do not need to prove anything to you i have done so and you continue to remain blind that is Not my problem and i will not take on any more uneducated comments on this goodbye

  • @rhemity Yet, Japan's research program in the Southern Ocean is perfectly legal under International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.
