@4WDbits So better on top in case of a (diesel) landcruiser, like this 80, or a patrol.

50 to 80'c , that is what 175'f lets say ..So if you ran a hood scoop it would even be a larger drop then, right ?
The reason I ask is that I have a Suzuki Sidekick which I put a VW1.9TD-M into.. I just picked up two intercoolers , much the same in size as you are using, this look's like a very good idea.... If I made some brackets and mounted this above the engine as you are , I have a feeling it would work.. I think I will run a hood scoop too though..
Thanks.........C

ah ok
is there a big difference then between an air to air for a 12 valve and one for a 24 valve
and witch one would give the best result? water or air intercooler??
i've heard that some people put the intercooler in front of the radiator. But the air has to travel much farther, don't you lose performance that way??

Front mount intercoolers are usually larger and can provide better efficency because of the amount of air flow through them. The down side is the plumbing required to fit them and increased turbo lag when turbo pressure is building up.
Some kits also limit wheel size because of pipe position. Front mount intercoolers on a diesel aren't as laggy as on a petrol when engine revs are up because diesels have no butterfly valve or throttle body in the intake..

Once you close that hood , how is air going to flow through the intercooler ?? Do you also install a hood scoop ??

A bonnet scoop definitely helps, but our testing gave 50 to 80 degrees celcius decrease in EGTs without a bonnet scoop. There is quite a lot of air circulating around under the bonnet on an 80 series.
