Stereo vinyl track, with backing vocals by Julia Waters, Maxine Waters and Carmen Twillie on an updated re-make of his classic hit.

Contrary to popular belief held by many uninformed people, Wilson was never "Motown" - that is, until the end of his career when he actually recorded for that label.

The word "Motown" is indiscriminantly tossed about by most folks as referring to any music performed by an African American soul/R&B artist from the '60s and '70s and have even gone so far as to label Aretha Franklin "Queen of Motown"..LOL.

To those of us who are true Motown fanatics, it has always referred specifically to Motown Records Corp., the record company created by Berry Gordy Jr. in Detroit Michigan; the Motown Sound specifically refers to the wonderful artists who recorded exlusively for that record label (and it's various subsidiaries)only!!!

Produced by Robert Margouleff, with executive producer Russ Regan - from the 1987 OOP Motown Records Corp. LP "American Soul Legend".

  • This is so GREAT,brings back memory's

  • Wally, You Da Bomb. Thanks for keeping us abreast of the Best American music ...ever!

Wilson Pickett, Dobie Gray, Marvin, etc. How people are getting short changed today with

the glorified, over-saturated, soul deprived puppets screaming & yelling in a sound booth. I hear noting from the heart, where has it gone ????? Totally flummoxed.

  • This version is so exciting, is like transforming in a most powerful being, is an awesome classical song at its finest.

  • @wally1435 You betcha. Around 15-20 years ago she heard that song on the radio and told me about it years later.
