  • would u trade for a 79 cougar

  • I had a baby blue one like one of the other videos, but I had a white landau top. I miss that car a lot. 351 Cleveland. Sequencial turn signals. I noticed the new mustangs have them now. Kind of a shame, really. The Cougars and the tbirds were cool. Somehow, seeing them on a mustang with 3 lights is kinda cheap.

Still, one of the best muscle cars out there now, aside from Challenger.

  • I drove a gold one for 20 years.. I wish a million times I had kept it... I regret trading it soooooooooooo very bad but started having engine trouble and devil mechanics messed it all up... spent $3500 in one year on repairs... and still was not fixed... WHY WHY WHY didn't I just get a new engine????????? The body was perfect.. Painted by Mike Hinson at H & H motors in Lancaster and was beautiful... :-(

  • I had one in white with a 351W. I miss it sooooo much.

  • I had a red one , it was fast , but the frame was bent. And I owned better 67 gto, 69 mach 1, But that cougar was very cool for being the end of the line,,,,

  • my dad had the same car just in firetruck red

  • Oh, well I didn't know for sure as I'm am not very fluent with Fords.

  • Actually, in 1973, ZERO Cougars came with 460's. Only engine choices were different variants of the 351 (cleveland, windsor, 2V, 4V etc) I think even the optional 429 was disconintued after 71.

The smogged weak (200 hp) 460 became on option the following year, in the 74's...which was a completely different car, basically a rebadged Montego. A true no personality generic 70's "land yacht". The 71-73 were big yes, but still rocked (well, comapred to 74+ anyway)

  • Most of these "Land Yacht's" came out with the 460... I guess this one was an exception..
