Flashy small pony mare chestnut with blaze and 4 socks. two year old welsh .
Been in large pasture whole life, only taken out to be trimmed.
I didn't video the first 20 minutes of me trying the same procedure with a lungeline instead of a whip...
She was very unresponsive to both, and just wanted to do as she pleased...
The trouble i am having is that she stops to confront me ( pins ears and holds ground) which you can see frequently, and this happened without the whip also.
I didn't touch her with it, i just used it as an arm extension.
All input is appreciated, Thank you.
…horses remember everything.. take her on a lead rope in the round pen and take your left hand pointing in the arena you want her to go and take your right leg step firmly towards her flank and spin the lead rope in a circular motion at her hind end until she moves and when she goes back in the circle moving praise her but keep her moving.. and then when she under stands this use a lunge line! Hope I helped! :D good luck! she's gorgeous btw.

I think she's just a bit confused of what you're asking of her.. I can sort of see that your body language starts to slow down and then she stops and pins… Don't get frustrated.. take your time she is only two.. She doesn't know what's going on.. all she is probably getting off of this is that her owner is chasing her around with a whip and she's just confused(i know you aren't really, just in her thoughts, she's probably thinking this is happening) Save the whip for when she's older young...
