how to get the baby shield:

1) Go to the Spirit Temple by navigating the Haunted Wasteland WITHOUT the help of the poe guide, and climb the wall of death in under 20 seconds.

2) Go back in time and talk to everyone in Hyrule Castle Town. Twice.

3) Beat the postman in the race from Gerudo Valley back to the Kokiri forest.

4) Kill 5000 fire keese.

5) Slap yourself in the face for an hour uninterrupted with the game cartridge up your bum.

6) Didn't work? You must have missed something. Try again!!
