How to make a background / cut a picture on photoshop cs3 tutorial

this is my first tutorial, so idk if its good..but i hope u understand it...plz comment..
sorry my sony vegas moved the text at the beggining a little..but i put annotiations

im sorry it has no sound, but i was afraid it would get copyrighted...so...if i worked 2 hours on this..then waited 3 hours for it to get rendered..i think it would be pretty annoying to get copyrighted..
