  • Gorgeous synth and a musician with a very rich harmonic vocabulary, it´s so nice to hear somebody who can truly play instead of just noodling around to show the sounds. The pianos are the best I´ve ever heard coming from an analog synth.

  • this was always an under rated synth........

  • Perfect demo, perfect player, perfect synth. I'm going to buy it for 300 dollars, what do you think people?

  • I bought a ROLAND JX-8P new many years ago. Used it to death in many songs and its textures sounded great but this guy in the vid will make anything sound heavenly!!!

  • Love the way you play, man!

  • The sound at 2:45 is the lead used in the Shamen's "Boss Drum".

  • @KodyBoy555 I think so, although it may have been the super jx10 which was pretty much 2 of these bad boys in one board! The JX8 was most famously used by Duran Duran though, the soundtrack patch in particular.

  • Did Fleetwood Mac use this synthesizer for the song "Little Lies"?

  • The JX8 is one of Roland's best analog synths ever. Its probably in the top 5. So under rated! this thing sounds like a dream. Run it through a delay and reverb and you are in synth heaven. With the PG-800 you've got a fully programmable analog beauty. The nice thing about the JX is that it can make tons of musical sounds that sound awesome. I have all 3 JX synths, the JX3 and the JX10, all 3 JX's are my favorite Roland Synths, aside from the Jupiter 8 and Jupiter 6, the Juno 60 is also great.

  • 3:45 sounded epic..

  • These rival the DXs for the piano sounds, they sound so FM it's unreal!

  • @Erickpowers14 Well it's a analog synthesizer so there is absolutely no way to make it sound like a piano. ;) But if you mean these "e-piano like" sounds from the start of this video: Learn how to program a substractive synthesizer! (Really-it's fun and isn't that hard) Some of the factory presets are also a good start (A little bit of tweaking and you can come up with some great rhodes type sounds). You can also download some additional patches from the Super JX Zone (search for it on Google).
