Who else can or could do that on the guitar? That absolute mastery combined with the hip, laconic, gum-popping sort of humour and playfulness. Only Django, as far as I know. There are some great guitarists, but those two are just the Olympians.

Jimi is like cool comedian with his guitar, he can make you laugh out loud with a tongue-in-cheek hip phrase or a funny noise like at 1.43 or 2.09. It's like he folds the music in, turns it upside down and rolls it back out again, with rainbow colours.

Beautiful and very soulful . I agree with the post that points out how he just plays what he feels at the moment no matter what bs is happening around him and what bs is being yelled at him. He transcends it all. It inspires me to try and do the same.
