Only 100 public seats were available to the debate, and 48,000 citizens joined the lottery to get in. Needless to say I wasn't one of the ones to get in...

  • Increasing funding for cancer research is EXACTLY the problem. They should offer a reward for a cure and be ready to anty up very soon.

  • unfortunately, the cure is to drastically change our entire way of life including energy policy, food policy, environmental policy etc.

it seems alot more than a subsidy to the big pharma companies is in opder!!! they have a vested economic impetus to keep us ill!

  • The people are going to have to speak up their interests and tell their elected officials that the day of corporati influence is over. We are moving in, we will watch you, report you, get your ass fired or unelected or whatever it takes to remove your lame ass, etc. I really believe in the power of the people, and like you, I'm skeptical about how corporate influence has worked throughout this election, starting with AARP's creepy insurance program for the rich. And how they peddle influence...

  • hi DJ-

I couldn't agree MORE!!!! the AARP is an arm of the Pharmaceutical lobby. NO DOUBT!

((get 'em hooked on these pills, and they'll do ANYTHING to get more!!!))

single payer health care keeps the HEALTH more important than the INDUSTRY! it's the ONLY way that makes health the greater concern.

precisely why i see HC and BO as the same corporate person- insurance and pharma- their plans only force people to PURCHASE INSURANCE.

    follow the money.

  • OUR damn government! heck ya!!!

  • This is a real concern and that's why I'm boycotting AARP. The corporati who took over AARP don't represent the members' best interests - like not-for-profit universal health care, something my mother worked long and hard for while she was president and director of AARP-NM. And now her efforts are going to the wayside unless we wake up and put pressure on huge lobbyists like AARP, who are controlling the health care debate.

  • The people will have to make their voices heard - no more corporate control over our government! We want transparency, we want to see what our officials eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We want to know who comes into their offices to peddle their influence. And the people want office hours so they too can participate in their damned government.

  • yeah, i like kucinich too, but in my life i have NEVER had the opportunity to vote FOR a candidate, in primaries even... they all get smeared and removed by the corporate powers that allow people like barack obama, hillary clinton, and john mccain to win.

they are all the same corporate person...

  • i certainly don't support mccain, but obama is just as scarey to me inasmuch as he says nothing, very eloquently. and i think "hoping for change" is not a plan, and we need a plan...

    there are no good candidates...

    nader?

  • Another quick note: I had supported Kucinich for President because he has no corporate connections - he's well connected to the people in his district and he represents them well. Unfortunately, the corporations have controlled the election since the start and they are really pissing off the people, so some candidates will have a hard time justifying their corporate connectiveness.
