very very cool you guys are awesome. my 2008 trip ended the same way: Overcast, no wind, brutal hangover but closely escorted by dolphin bros almost all the way to long beach

Avalon is really nice. I hope you also sailed to Two Harbors. Much more quaint/private and a favorite of the wife and mine.
