This was a movie that was given to me at a lecture at the University of Arizona in 2003 by Frank Dorrel. I'm uploading it to YouTube in the hope that it will educate the public about the activities of their government.
Part 10 begins with the invasion of Panama as an example of the type of interventions the U.S. may pursue in the future. The narrator describes it as swift, intense and merciless. The mainstream news media did not give the public an accurate picture of what really happened. They were in near total collaboration with the Reagan/Bush administration.
Noriega had been on the CIA payroll since the 1960s, yet he was portrayed as a demon in the media. Despite evidence that Noriega was involved in drug trafficking, Bush Sr. kept him on the CIA payroll and increased his salary to over $100k and eliminated the requirement that intelligence reports on Panama include a mention of drug trafficking.
Noriega helped supply an arms network to help supply the contra bases in Northern Costa Rica, working with the CIA and Israeli arms dealers.
When he became uncooperative with US objectives in Latin America and hosted a series of talks that called for an end to US intervention, the Reagan administration openly called for his removal. The US NOW undertook a systematic effort to over throw Noriega. Noriega then became a threat to "National Security."
US troops began confronting Panamanians with the intent to create an international incident. They hasselled the Panamanian public until this happened and then went into the country under the guise of "protecting US lives."
The invasion was code names "operation just cause".
