Song: Return of the Machines (Radio Mix)
Artist: Oforia feat. Bwicked
Speed: 144 BPM
Est. Difficulty: Low- to mid-level 8
Mods Used: 1.5x

As much as I love the song, a huge complaint for me was the dull stepchart this song had on Expert. It's a song about resistance that features a guy running from the authorities, yet the chart was a boring-ass six. That needed to be fixed.

I didn't make this chart to be difficult, just more active, and with more "running". A few of the streams are a little odd, but at this speed, they should still be easily manageable.

Making this edit was quite a learning experience for me because I'd never dealt with 12th note arrows before. I wasn't entirely pleased with the fact that I wasn't given much leeway with some of the "vocal" arrows, and how I was either given the choice to make arrows follow the vocals, or use no arrows. I tried to make do with what I was given, though, and for someone who only makes maybe one edit chart per game, I think I did okay enough.

  • One. Nice. Edit.

Konami should've made a chart like that.

I guess their creativity sometimes can be unsatisfying...

  • I like to be optimistic and think that maybe they gave this a bad chart because they burned themselves out making so many good charts for other songs.

  • Very nice edit.

I would have made the ending one long stream though. The beat allows it and it seems like something that would fit the song pretty good.

Other than that, it's awesome. :D

  • I did extend the stream a little bit in the last chorus, but continuing it through the whole thing seemed to drag out a little too much for me, so I toned it down a bit.

It's not perfect, but I certainly like it over the official steps.

  • It's pretty nice, I'd give it 4/5 stars. You don't go off an make one of those "as retardedly hard as possible" charts, and the rhythm really fits with the song.

It could use a little copy-paste/symmetry on the chorus, and if you really want it up to L8-par, take some of the more accenuated notes, and make some fun step-jumps with them!

It's way better than to OG by far, though! :D

  • You have some neat skills.

This Edit is much better than the original Stepcharts.

You didnt make it hard, nor easy, its just perfect

My Respect for that :) 5*

  • Cool edit! :)
