@pnnorton No, I switched to Linux because of the frustrations my Windows XP computer gave - lag, crash etc. It was almost unusable. And when Windows Vista and Windows 7 came out, i hated them more than XP as many people do.

@Pikrass and im runnning wow on my ubuntu rigth now... i dont need shiit windows for that

@NasherDezno And Photoshop, WoW or COS will be running on Linux when Linux will take over... Dammit ! Fortunately most of the time users don't need Photoshop (or at least not its advanced features ; GIMP is just fine for retouching photographs) and don't play games. They need an office suite, a browser and an email client. Sometimes some extras.

@yofootball127 No, Linux will take over when people can get good software for it like Photoshop and play games like WoW or COS without having to mess about with Wine. On the flip side I think some distros are really close to where the average person would like them.

What's with the Red Hair Wig?
Also, Ubuntu > Windows XP and below any day (Do people remember that Windows XP came out August 24, 2001 ? 10 Years Ago.)
I love Ubuntu, and hate all other 90% of Linux Distros, I also hate 50% of the Apps that haven't been updated in 5+ Years.
That Said, Long live WINE, and Down with Gimpy Necro GIMP.

@Scorp969 "Every windows OS except NT" = classic, DOS based Windows.
Now tell me, where/why those share code with "every other Linux and Unix flavor" (and why would you know?).

It pretty much gave you the worst reason to switch to linux. These linux users need to get over themselves. Windows isn't that bad for frustration. If you use it like most new users will use linux it is far nicer experience. You shouldn't switch to linux looking for a simpler, smoother ride. I think you should only move to linux if you can find something you can't do that you can do in linux. Like it being open source is nice but I'm not going to change it and compile it myself. not a reason

@yofootball127 +1
Only problem is Linux has less money to advertise effectively. I've seen a few IBM commercials about the future being Linux/open though. I guess we'll see huh? We need missionaries for Linux. Haha maybe Linux can partner up with the Mormans so they can inform people about Linux while trying to convert them to their religion?

No you haven't. I've never known a single Linux user to go back to Windows aside for dual booting just to play games. If you really used Linux, you would understand how the community support works as opposed to the Windows non support which has never helped me when I needed it.
Plus when Windows has a problem it is the OS's fault and all is hopeless. When Linux has a problem it's probably something you did and it's your fault so you can trace back what you did wrong and/or ask intelligent geeks.
