@adamburgess All I know is that the IRA were and still are cowardly murderers. You go on about the shankhill butchers, what about the numerous bombings in Ireland that killed Irish people,,,,,,,there were alot of them. You sound like you have not had any exposure to the fear of terrorism.The IRA had clear links to other major terrorist groups. They have/do sell massive amounts of hard and soft drugs to buy arms to harm and kill English people and troops as well as there own police force.

@MrGoosemoore I am in no way defending the actions of the IRA, they have committed some truly awful atrocities but if you think that who they were fighting against were angels then think again. Type in 'Shankhill Butchers' into Wiki if you need a clear example that the IRA's enemies could be despicable, indiscriminately heartless bastards too....
