Buying baubles for your beloved is a tradition on Valentine's Day. Now a company can culture a diamond in a laboratory — an authentic, certified gem at a fraction of the price. Joie Chen reports the man-made diamonds are no cubic zirconias. (CBSNews.com)

  • whoa, no one likes my comment I guess. the value of the gemstone doesn't mean he loves you more.

Not everyone can afford real diamonds. but still want to look nice. I think it's cool that these look identical. I'm a jeweler and I work with all kinds of stones. I'm excited to get my hands on some of these

  • wow..that is faboulus..

  • Lab diamonds are real diamonds. Only a real diamond can cut another real diamond. These lab diamonds can cut any diamond.

  • BTW, when I wrote your name and "REPORTED", I was doing so in a sarcastic way to make fun of that blabbering idiot, mandscat.

  • Your comment about the value of the stone and love makes all the sense in the world Allundaria. It's the narrow-minded, shallow, materialistic people like mandscat who are truly offensive.

  • Who cares ! Bitches wear fake diamonds all the time and they think they're real ! All they care about is the value!! Shallow cunts!

  • Your response post to Allundaria has been reported to YouTube, due to the rampant stupidity you have shown throughout this discussion, as well as thinking that you're smarter than you actually are. REPORTED!!!

  • @mandscat And just to PROVE you know DIDDLY squat about diamonds and their structure, here's a little tidbit for you. Until DeBeers came up with two separate tools to differentiate between natural and synthetic diamonds, even seasoned jewelers were fooled. Considering that the 415nm optical absorption line isn't found in synthetic diamonds, but IS found in roughly 94% of natural diamonds, it would be a little difficult for anybody but a trained gemologist to figure it out, let alone YOU!
