ALL ABOUT DAD - Program 43 - Monday, May 4, 2009 - 9:00 PM - Downtown Independent -
ALL ABOUT DAD is the classic conflict between an "Old World" father and his "New World" kids but is completely new because its focus is an ignored community: Vietnamese Americans. The film follows a Vietnamese American family with a loving but strict dad whose rigid expectations threaten to thwart his children's ambitions. Son Ty is a college student who refuses to be the "model minority" Dad wants him to be, while daughter Lihn has kept her finance's Buddhism a secret fearing rejection because Dad is quite Catholic.
