Amazing Grace at the Grand Canyon

Dorothy H. Rudd Foster Today we traveled 3 hrs for the Grand Canyon. After after having a peaceful outdoors lunch we watched the IMAX National Geograpic Movie of the GC. It was beautiful as expected!

Next was the 1 1/2 hr drive recommented for short time visitiors. How does one describe God adequately? One doesn't. "Words are like liquid" as such times for me.

It was so important for me to have an alone time with God while at such a beautiful place. I also wanted to be with my family and Tia Bek. In order to enjoy fully both of those dreams I knew it could pose a challenge. So I prayed that God would take the desire that I believe He has placed in my heart and provide for this deep sense of need I had. Also the needs of the others in our little GIRLS only trip.

As we walked around the first site, all of a sudden we heard bag pipes playing. I walked over to the man playing them and began taking pictures with my camera and a video with my small flip. His back was turned from me and I didn't want to invade his moment of what appeared to me to be worship. But, I sensed a nudge from God to move around and take a picture of him close up. As I did he turned and looked straight at me. He winked a knowing wink of understanding. Soon he began playing "Amazing Grace". At that point I began to take a flip video...sweeping across what I could see of the Grand Canyon. While looking through that flip and listening to him play, the Hand of God reached deep within my soul and pierced my heart with His love. A deep moving of the Holy Spirit embraced me in His MIGHTY presence. My moment was given to me by God. My Holy moment alone with Him looking at what only could be created by a HOLY GOD! The Maker of Heaven and Earth. After he finished playing, I turned and looked straight into the BEAUTIFUL blue eyes of my daughter Angel. I knew in that instant that we were in the throne room together. As I began to tell her what was happening tears filled my eyes and spilled down my face...she said to me "I saw the whole thing. I saw it all happen." There was such love and a deep knowing in her as well". What a wonderful way to worship our Living God together with the grandchildren place around her feet in quiet peace.

Tia Bek was having her moment alone off to the side. After he finish playing she placed her worship songs on her ipod and and stood before the GRAND site and melted before His hand of Love.

How does one said thank you for such a moment. The only way I know to is to do as my mother Mopsy taught me. Me, "Momma, I don't know what to do when some pays me a compliment or does something so special for me". Mopsy, "Just say thank you" So that is what I do, I say "Thank you my Lord" and I as was taught to me at His feet...I ask for His grace in loving others as He has freely loved me. "By His GRACE"
