Yes, it's pretty much the same game, albeit with some additional content because this version was released a year later than the original.

oh man, that sucked, but then again let's remember the saturn was not created to push 3d graphics the way the playstation was, so this sucky video was probably taking the hardware to it's limits, i like that it explains more about the background of the sword as well as the sword through the dragon's head picture that was on the psx disc, i loved this game so much... it was the 1st RPG i ever beat, at around age 13

Don't be foolish, what a bunch of nonsenses. CGIs/FMVs have nothing to do with 3D real time graphics and hardware limits. Their quality, technical compression and resolution aspects aside, rely solely on how they were created and designed in the computer-generated imagery software. And by the way, if you want 3D real time graphics on the Sega Saturn in the way the PlayStation ever reached or even better, then take a look on the unreleased Sega Saturn version of Shenmue.

i gget the idea behind this but the opening for playstation is much better and one thing i never got about vandal hearts was they never fight a real dragon they fight with salamander but he is more of a drake (not adult dragon)and ash never through his sword or wore a helmet except vandalier and it dont look like that

The original opening (the one with the song) is also included in the Sega Saturn version. It shows if you do nothing on the title screen.

I am so glad konami dropped that animation for the opening of the PS version of Vandel Hearts. It did not fit the mood of the title opening.

pretty funny intro (intentional or not), it reminds me of dungeon keeper for PC a bit.
