    Its 2 years old and the engine would still fuck most recent games into their ass o.o.

    They are 4 Guys and are doing a great job. Hope to see it 2010 :) (beta or alpha already running? so i would preorder XD)

  • @g0band It may visually appear that you're 90% of the way there; but that's an illusion. You've solved very visible issue, but there's a 100 more left.

    You have to implement bite in a way that works consistently and well over all sorts of networks; you have to predict and interpolate player movement in a way that prevents jerkyness when players are near each other. You have to give bite the right priority so that you're not accidentally biting a nearby armory while aiming for a marine. etc. etc

  • @Sebal007 all graphics engines are constantly improved, ALL engines, (even ensemble's engine is still updated even though they are retired/dead whatever people say now-a-days)

    Example: A good demonstration would be the gears of war series, its a little hard to notice for someone who isnt very techy but there are quite a few.

    They have models in this game. They have at least a portion of a map. They have lighting. How much more is there to code? A gun and jaws that deduct health and ammo? I realize it's a little more complicated than that, but come on! Is it TWO YEARS more complicated than that? I don't think so.

    I preordered the game THE DAY preorder sales were available. You know, back in May. MAY 2009!

    I'm just saying I feel jipped. Were these videos ever real? Where is the game pictured?

  • @g0band They are probably waiting until later on to put the effects like this in the public builds (or until release)

    Notice the game doesn't even support multi-cores yet, and runs somewhat sluggish on some of the lower-end but still-powerful hardware that can run games like Crysis fine.

    They probably want to optimize it before including things like this.
