This is my second video to test the multipoint grid tracking with the wiimote.
The source code of this program is made by Johnny Lee (www.johnnylee.net)
He's running this nice project, credits goes to him :)

I made this test with a second IR pen.
If you have an old remote control from your TV, you can just take the IR led from it, take a simple button switch (from a old mouse) and wire it with a battery. You can use a pen for the cover.

Have fun :)

  • where are the IR LEDs pointing to? just in the length of the pen? they don't seem to be shinig directly into the wiimote ir reader..

  • The light angle of the IR LEDS are pretty big, so if you hold the leds towards the ceilling, the wiimote can still detect them a little bit.

  • Cool, but ist is pretty useless.

  • true, but its just fun to experiment with it when you have some free time =)

  • @otaconas I know that you probably don't care any more, since this is a response to a 2 year old post, but an IR pen is basically just a little flash light, but it goes on when you press the button and goes off when you release the button, the best ones have a current limiting resister to improve battery life, and have the IR LED pointing out at the Wii Remote instead of straight out of the top of the pen. For 2 AA batteries, an 18 ohm resistor would be best if you are using the TSAL 6400 LED.

  • sir maybe you can explen more about the ir pen because it doesn't work for me !!! pleeease
