also, you can use mice and keyboards designed for pc on mac. my family has an older powermac G4 that we dont use but we set it up with pc designed mouse and keyboard

no, you can use both the mighty mouse and keyboard on windows. I have a iMac desktop and a pc laptop and I have hooked my laptop upto my tv and used both my bluetooth mighty mouse and my bluetooth apple keyboard on my pc.
