Life Of A Quark

A quark (IPA: /kwɔrk/, IPA: /kwɑːk/ or IPA: /kwɑːrk/)[1] is a physical particle that interacts via all four fundamental forces and that is placed under the classification of fermion.[2] and that forms one of the two basic constituents of matter, the other being the lepton.[3]

There are six different types of quarks, usually known as flavors: up, down, charm, strange, top, and bottom.[4] The charm, strange, top, and bottom flavors are highly unstable, and can only be recreated and observed under special conditions. However, the "up" and "down" flavors are in abundant existence throughout the universe. In addition to flavor, quarks are assigned various other properties, such as electrical and color charge, mass, and spin.
