Hybrid Electric Trike 130 Miles Per Gallon ! Bicycle! Tricycle! Gas Bike

Hybrid trike I put together that gets 130 miles per gallon :)

a) Is this real or is this just a fake as some of the commenters suggest?

that is the guy I originally bought my trike from. I consulted with him, because he was very interested and with what I did, he tried to make production model as seen there, but near the final stages, the people in Taiwan didn't want to make it for him.... never got made, but you can see his had some nice advances past mine...

b) What are its technical specs, e.g. range, etc apart from that it cost $3 500+

24v motor. 2 12v batteries. 30 amp (15 amps per bank) charger. Honda Generator max output of 1000watts.

Gen could hold a half gallon. I would ride it to work and back for 2 weeks, 4 miles each way before a fill up. I would charge (electrically) the trike at home, then run the charger when I left. It would idle, but as the batteries began to drain, the gen would rev higher and make more power... Eventually, it was using most of the charger / generator power.... If I ran out of gas, it would continue to go (since it has been using mostly gen / charger and I could get to a gas station and fill up again.

c) Isn't the generator loud?

No. It's a 4 stroke engine make by Honda. Often times, with just the wind blowing past my ears, I would reach back and touch it to make sure it was running because I couldn't hear it. Trike went 16 mph and when the gen was reving higher, you could hear it, but it was still not "loud".

Well, just because you are legally blind don't mean shit. If you have good vision with glasses or contacts, you can get a driver's licence. I'm legally blind and I drive anything, cars all my life, and now... my motorbike. No problems. Now, if I lost my glasses... and was driving at night... would be a serious blurs-ville. I'm looking to build an electric tricycle to haul groceries, but my budget limit is $100 and scrounged everything else.

@50caliberFistFK You're right... "don't mean shit" to people who don't know or talk it... Many people(uh, me included), even with correction (uh, glasses / lenses), don't see better than 20/200, uh (legally blind)...

And most states require 20/70 OR BETTER to get a driver's license... So even if you see better than 20/200, you have to see at least 20/70 to get a license... That leaves a lot of people in the middle, who for all intents and purposes are still "impaired". That's some shit there.

I had about $3500+ in this.... It probably would be around the same price with a different trike / drive train today... Expensive, the price of a used car, but for people who cannot get a driver's license (me for the first 38 years of life) it was great...

Necessity is the mother of invention . You haven't got a driver's licence , but you found your way around it . Reminds me of diesel electric locomotives , only your 's is petrol electric ( I'm Australian ) and it charges the batteries. Nothing stopping you mate.
