  • My teachers covered the speaker of fire alarms with tape or other things, too, because of the loudness, however the fire alarm inspectors hollered at them to uncover the speaker of the fire alarm or else they will write them up. In public buildings, the alarm has to be loud in case of an emergency. For you, you can cover the fire alarm speaker because it's in your own home, but in public, don't, because you will get busted like how my teachers did.
