I think the toughest thing for amateur film makers is quality acting, distribution and budget. Not necessarily in that order. I love that RR is willing to share all he does. It gives the rest of us hope.

And this is the man who made Spy-Kids 3D

I'm not gay but Robert Rodriguez, I fuckin love you!!~ ok?

I can't get my head around how he organises all those shots! ie; having people turn up 4 weeks later to film a scene with someone who's done filming etc...
Fascinating watch!

I agree. District 9 was filmed for under $40 million dollars cuz it had no big stars and the director had done short special effects films growing up. I don't go to the movies to see a star, I go to see a GREAT MOVIE! :-)

It's impressive how creatively he gets around his problems.

He wants the new filmmakers that are coming up to work like this. Hollywood movies are getting ridiculously expensive. Sometimes to remedy the situation they film movies like Xmen in canada, or a movie like the martix in australia. The hellbody movies are shot in Prague. The new dragon ball movie was shot in mexico. Its just better to get with the times and put this idea in your head to be as practical as you can. Like making the car rotate and still make use one one green screen and one camera
I love how generous he is with sharing his ideas.
