Well, the character is certainly striking. She's written to be the series' "loose cannon on deck," in a sort of "mad, bad, and dangerous to know" kinda way. That pulls attention to the Sam character no matter what else is going on. I think McCurdy does a helluva job with the character in terms of timing, expression, physicality, voice... That youngster can ACT, no doubt about it.
