I am from England, but i went to school in aussie in 1980's, and I used to love this song when it was Up there Cazaly....despite living in Sydney (VFL bored me...aerial ping pong!) I think this is a great idea, lets hope it goes to Number 1 and the fans sing it!
I love the accompanying clips...would love to see one with the lyrics printed as well!
Any chance this could be entered for Talksport Battle of the bands? It has to win!
cheers noshandy....England forever!

THIS IS DERBY COUNTYS STEVE BLOOMERS WATCHING SONG ???

Hi, thanks for the comment. Derby County have also adapted a verion of Mike Bradys "Up there Cazaly" for their Steve Bloomers watching song, so of course the tune will be very similar. Derby County recorded the song back in 1996/1997, this song by Cliff Portwood was recorded in 1982.

Hey this is not your song!

Hi seviork. I notice you're Australian, so will recognise the original version by Mike Brady, Up there Cazaly. Mike is good friends with Cliff and wrote the cover version of the song with him back in 1982.

Not sure about recorded over 20 years ago and never released. But was recorded and released by Mike Brady in Australia I think in the 1980's as an Australian Rules anthem "Up there Cazaly" which can be found on itunes. sure the Australians will love the fact its been rereleased as an England World Cup Song!

Mike Brady is a good friend of Cliffs. They became friends whilst Cliff worked in music and tv for a number of years in Australia during the 1970s, which I believe was for channel 7 in Melbourne.
This track was originally recorded 28 years ago with Mikes permission and involvement for the World Cup in 1982. Mike is well aware of the single being released again for 2010 and is fully supportive of the idea.
Appreciate your comments though!
