ImaginaryColours.com is pleased to present a 15-minute tour of some of Rocky Pond Christmas in Belleville, Kansas. This is the first official year, though the display was started unofficially on private grounds adjacent to Rocky Pond.
In 2011, G. Tom Tsao requested permission of the City Council to use Rocky Pond Park for the purpose of building a Christmas lights display for the enjoyment of the community at large. The request was granted, and the search for volunteers strengthened.
The citizens and businesses of Belleville stepped up a few at a time and by November 24 the lights were up and the 2011 show opened.
It is important to know that the City agreed to the use of the land at Rocky Pond plus agreed to pay the electric bill. More than half of Rocky Pond Park is not wired for electricity so much of the display is running on batteries either by use of 12 volt lights or 120 volt lights via power inverters. Many of the steel display frames were manufactured in Belleville, KS to original designs and lighted with LED lights purchased or donated by ImaginaryColours.com of Belleville. Thanks for watching! We hope you come to visit soon!
Heard you talk about this on yesterdayusa. Nice job. Looks like you really improved it over 2010. Can't wait to see next year.
