  • From the 1970 Contribution album, which fortunately has also been brought into the digital age for those of us who no longer have turntables. God bless you for posting this, and thank you Arlo for allowing it to stay on the net. I really want to boost the legion of Shawn Phillips lovers, as I know you do too! And I believe this sort of posting helps our cause. Thank all of you real people for caring.

  • Great song!!! Listened to it many times when I was in college studying. Thanks for posting.

  • @terrryc He is an EMT in South Africa—not Texas.

  • he was last known to be an EMT somewhere in his native Texas (Yes, he's a Texan!!!)

  • Great song! I listened to him thrughout college as well.

  • i thought this was from his LP "Contribution", 1969....Side Two first song...as Casey Stengel used to say "you could look it up"

  • First heard this on local radio, with several equally stoned friends, on the way home from a Jethro Tull concert. We all loved it. I looked for the album for over a year ( the record store guy never heard of Shawn Phillips) but I finally found it. Then I lost it in a house fire in "93. (Yea, I'm an old fart). Been looking for the song again ever since. So happy to find it here. Thanks so much.

  • @piercethevale did not know, thx
