An astonishing parking ticket. Just a flaw of the system or intentional? In this case is not only the glaring evidence of flawed procedures that clearly misled me and - I am sure - many other motorists. More importantly is that I am being forced yet again to spend considerable time and effort to prove myself right yet again (it has happened with Wandsworth Council in the past) that municipal authorities such as the City of Westminster can devise frivolous and ill conceived methods of ticketing that are riddled with flaws and they rely on our copious appeals (for videos and time for report writing) that they may then improve the system. And they think we should be happy if they simply let us off. My expenses for proving myself this time have run up to £690. An expense which I didn't bother to make a fuss about in a previous case that "I won" with Wandsworth Council a while ago.

  • I SUFFERED IT! This is not about politics. You are probably the unqualified bureocrat that has been advocating that idea. I would suggest that you check out your qualifications before embarking on such schemes. Heard of "operational research"? its a scientific term which you probably havent come across and of which you should have astute command before embarking on projects like this.

  • Dont you think that it is unfair that the flaws of any new system should be passed on to fine paying innocent public, and that they should point out its gaping flaws through costly time consuming and frankly unnecessary appeals, especially under the duress of being fined? And all that because you were unprofessional and disrespectful enough to allow yourself the flaws in the system in the first place? Where is the propaganda in this? I SUFFERED IT!!! and I am sure many other motorists' as well.

  • "evident by the 8000 or over people that use it every day." 8000 people forced to use it every day, more like it!

  • I'm sorry but come on, conveniently not showing the actual sign till half way through the video, this is propaganda! I can assure you that the Pay by Phone Parking system is easy to use, evident by the 8000 or over people that use it every day.

You'd be praising it if someone had stolen your wallet while standing at a meter.

  • yes exactly, i didnt show it until half way because I DIDNT SEE IT until AFTER I GOT THE TICKET!!! According to your logic, I shouldnt have shown it at all!!! "I can assure you that the Pay by Phone Parking system is easy to use, evident by the 8000 or over people that use it every day." Yes brilliant assurance! 8000 people suffer silently every day

  • "It is important that authorities do not introduce a system that inadvertently discriminates against some sections of the population. The system should allow motorists to pay by whatever method is most convenient to them, including: cash; cheques sent by post with out a cheque guarantee card; cheque supported by a cheque guarantee card at a payments centre; Sterling travellers' cheque; and debit or credit card in person, by phone or via internet"

  • It goes against Dept. of Transport - Operational Guidance to Local Authorities: Parking Policy and Enforcement: Traffic Management Act 2004

  • Westminster City Council (WCC) is only interested in money, which is why WCC uses pay by phone parking (operated by Verrus UK Ltd) - it saves having to collect money from on street pay and display machines. Westminster Council does not care if it makes life difficult for car drivers and motorcycle/scooter riders, as long as the money keeps on rolling in.

  • Pay-by-phone has been pushed in Westminster City Council, yet this form of payment is socially exclusive, towards people without mobile phones or credit cards, or do not want a mobile phone, or cannot get a credit card due to their status, an example being a 16 year old riding a moped who is now excluded from parking legally and is at risk of receiving a parking ticket.

  • I work for the parking services in Westminster. I see on a daily basis people having this problem. I do sympathise with their situation and normally cancel the ticket and educate them. However, there is a lot of people out there that DO NOT read the information provided to them. Not until they get a ticket, they start complaining about how the information is poorly displayed. It is the driver's responsibility to understand these restrictions. WCC cannot be held responsible.

  • Haha, nice one mate. Ill take that on board.

  • ur a fucking retard lykeyd2000, go die, thats all ur worth
