  • absolutely amazing.. Doug and Jimmy are by far within the top ranks of jazz guitarists of all time. great feel, tone, and emotion. They speak the language so loud and clear you can feel the emotional input. Good stuff!!!

  • RR- thanks for your comments. It's nice to see a guitarist in the younger generation that understands truly the value and nature of the contributions of those that came before Rogers, Rosenwinkel, Kreisberg et al.

  • @ninebreaker21 That's a GRETSCH guitar. Model may be "Anniversary"

  • Come suo padre. Un grande !!! Finalmente un chitarrista jazz moderno con un bel suono di chitarra. Grande equilibrio tra bassi e alti.

  • Somewhat off topic... I'm looking for a guitar with a super-wide neck like this. Could anyone help me ID? Thanks.

  • This is a great version. The tempo lets the melody sing. This is usually played so fast that it sounds bad. The soloing is excellent - melodic, logical, and listenable!!

  • Wonderful! I love the use of space in Doug's solos, which his amazing father must have instilled in him.

  • He looks like his dad when he was young in Paris! brilliant player like him too!

  • Love the "Swing on a Star" quote 1:40-1:44, not to mention everything else!

  • It's called Stolen Moments, my friend.

  • wow fantastic playing!

  • I really appreciate these clips of Doug. As with others, I only wish there were more. Doug is always in the pocket. I think these are great for learning (lines, phrasing, time, etc., etc.)
