The same ignorance that's seen 'round the world. All the same, just a different outward appearance.

@JatiTheComposer Excellent question. From my experience, nothing happens, meaning they vanish into obscurity teaching, accompanying, finding other degrees and work to make a living. Notice how very few Chinese teach at the top institutions, despite making up a significant portion of talented students. The music industry is also heavily biased against them. Can you name even a handful of famous Chinese musicians in the US? They're cute as child prodigies, but undesirable as adults.

@zzfinance - I think you should tell this to yamahaU3 - I don't think he knows the difference between a Russian, Russian/American and an American-- too confusing for him
-
@yamahaU3 - perhaps before you pass judgement you should take into consideration that the individual who made this comment clearly is NOT a native speaker - she has a slavic accent. Perhaps she came to America as a student ,in her later years, and her impressions of Asians were formed in her native country - it is people like you who jump the gun, savoring every opportunity to bash America, who should experience what it is like to be denied the opportunity to express an opinion.

these chinese students practice 10 hours when they are 6 or 7. believe this or not, I'm just telling you what i have observed.

I was just wondering.....what happens to all of those julliard piano students after they graduated.....As a kid I used to have a huge passion in classical music...but now...not any more....its difficult to make a living out of classical music in my country....

It is ignorance to say these kids grew up with primarily Asian music. during the passed 100 years Asian students are extensively contact western and Russian music as well as other literature before they came to US to receive more systematic education. this russian american teacher is too boast of herself.

grew up with asian music? Most of the children in China play the piano and other western instruments
