The slow build up to the actual tempo happens to be precisely what I don't like about it - I feel it should be at a consistent pace to make structural sense. The sound of course is none too good, I can barely hear the inital oboe entry when it first arrives.
The tempo finally adopted seems too fast for me anyhow, especially after that grotesquely slow beginning.

I like how they begin slow and build up to the tempo by the 8th measure, and then continue building energy until the oboe solo. Excellent recording. Very light and full of life, even in the low strings. Thanks for sharing it online.

Ahh a perennial middle and high school favorite, for good reason. Such fun to play, even in an arrangement, original even moreso.
