Vaughn Monroe sings his theme song, Racing with the Moon, before a live 1965 concert audience in this video. Vaughn was one of the more gifted entertainers to come along: bandleader, singer, actor, musician, spokesperson, etc. The Akron, Ohio, native had a stack of hits for RCA Victor.
Singer, actor, band leader, composer, et cetera. The man was multi-talented.

His music takes me back to memories of proms, Juke boxes, green rivers, convertibles, and the best of times in a much kinder world. To sing like Vaughn Monroe was once a dream, but seems like I sounded more like Kermit the frog.

I know his music from my parents, who I'm thankful still to have with me at 89 and 83.
"There I Said It Again" is a song my father sang to my mother, a beautiful 2nd tenor rendition. I sent the Vaughn Monroe version to my wife for her birthday.

He was one of the super singers of all time. Too bad he left this earth sooner than expected. Glad there are those who help his music endure.

One of the great ballad singers of all time. He had so many admirers, too bad he left this earth too soon.
