If he chose roles which he could relate to, good for him - and good for us because we got a performance full of emotion and feeling which we did not have before with tenors who only sang the words. And if you reach a 'pinnacle' in your career it is normal to want to extend yourself and your repertoire- and that is what the Maestro chose - respect his decision and respect the man for what he is- probably the most beautiful tenor voice we have ever witnessed.

@kboyer1 Unfortunately, this is true. Had he not had leukemia, I think his voice would've still been in good shape, even now. The chemotherapy and radiation treatments just screwed up his vocal cords. But his voice is still not bad. Let's just be glad he's still alive, and he's pretty darn healthy. If he had died, the Three Tenors would not have existed.

I believe Jose is singing a verse in Catalan. Sounds like it. Correct me if I'm wrong. I love this song! :) I watch the Three Tenors Christmas concert every year on video. :) It's been my personal holiday tradition for nearly a decade. I even sometimes watch it when its not even close to Christmas. XD
