laptop problem

The laptop boots up normally with graphical artifacts showing on the screen. After the windows load screen shows it goes into windows makes that one screen of what looks like reversed commas then the screen goes black.

Only way to fix it is to go into safe mode and remove the display drivers and restart. This still makes the boot screen have those artifacts but windows is viewable. As soon as the drivers are reinstalled the problem of the black screen in windows happens again.

Hi cacaaleau. Yes it is the video card for sure,however its not an integrated card. It is an Nvidia Geforce 7900 GS.

ez fix, reflow the GPU with a heat gun.........iv fixed mine and alot of others this way

Everytime i try to turn on my laptop. It jus loads up to my wallpaper and doesnt show anything else at all. Like no icons or bars. Anythin. Help me!!

Hah, sorry to bump this but this is a KNOWN error buy DELL and I now got the same issue as you, I will try to fix it by heating the underside of the GPU as it could work (Hey, no harm if I destroy it so why not try?)

i have the smae problem with my computer but i had a computer guy check it out and he said it was my video card he replaced the video card then it never did it again.

Excactly the same problem as I was having, although also the Windows boot screen would appear jagged and pixellated.

Luckily, I got Dell to change the graphics card (5 years warranty), but of course they wouldn't reply to my e-mails. It now works, but I'm very catious about both the laptop being elevated and closely watching the temperature and controlling the fans myself.

what is the oven trick.. my video card is a nvidia go 7700 in a asus a8js... the black screen i get unless the driver is uninstalled.. will this oven trick fix it... if you think it will.. how do i do the oven trick on my video card? plz
