SHOW KNOWN FILE EXTENSIONS BEFORE YOU PERFORM THIS. I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE MISSING THE EXE BECAUSE THEY HAVE THIS SETTING OFF.
Also, to answer another question -- it's heavily unlikely that this will work on any other 16-bit games not made by Humongous. Strange as it may sound, there actually was a time when games really were 16-bit simply because 32-bit wasn't even a thing. This only works because Humongous games are not actually 16-bit, they simply worked around that limitation when Windows 3.1 still existed.
If you get this message whenever trying to run a HE game on a Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 64-bit...
The program or feature "[Insert Game Here]" cannot start or run due to incompatibility with 64-bit versions of Windows. Please contact the software vendor to ask if a 64-bit Windows compatible version is available.
...I will say that you're in luck. Since the games aren't actually 16-bit and just use a 16-bit EXE that executes a 32-bit EXE in disguise, the games can still perfectly function on 64-bit machines! This trick still doesn't seem to be very well-known, and I would have waited to make this until I actually got a 64-bit computer, but the amount of people thinking they were SOL led me to make this.
Games this trick will work on:
Freddi Fish and the Case of the Missing Kelp Seeds (1994 and 1998 versions)
Putt-Putt Saves the Zoo (1995)
Freddi Fish 2: The Case of the Haunted School House (1996)
Pajama Sam 1: No Need to Hide When It's Dark Outside (1996)
Spy Fox 1 in Dry Cereal (1997)
Putt-Putt Travels Through Time (1997, as demonstrated here)
Freddi Fish 3: The Case of the Stolen Conch Shell
Pajama Sam 2: Thunder and Lightning Aren't So Frightening (1998)
Putt-Putt Enters the Race
Freddi Fish 4: The Case of the Hogfish Rustlers of Briny Gulch
Putt-Putt and Pep's Balloon-o-Rama
Putt-Putt and Pep's Dog on a Stick
Freddi Fish and Luther's Maze Madness
Freddi Fish and Luther's Water Worries
Spy Fox in Cheese Chase
Pajama Sam's Sock Works
Pajama Sam's Lost and Found

Update: As it turns out, the classics (Putt-Putt Joins the Parade, Fatty Bear's Birthday Surprise, Putt-Putt Goes to the Moon, and Putt-Putt & Fatty Bear's Activity Pack) can run after all, but they're a bit finicky regardless. Perform the same trick shown in this video, and on the CD, look for a folder called "SYSTEM", then go to "WING". Copy the WING32.DLL file and paste it into C:\Windows\SysWOW64. It should execute at least, though you may not get sound. If that's the case, just use ScummVM.
