This encore is an example of Jarrett's ability to mix & blend different styles seamlessly while staying focused and exploring different moods of a well known song. The use of fugato in the middle part is especially refreshing as is the ending.

This is from Tokyo Solo DVD (recorded in 2002)

  • He and Bill Evans are the only people I've heard who can explore the inherent beauty in these songs. The stage productions never did them justice as they were all dressed up in big orchestration. Has he ever performed Some Enchanted Evening does anyone know?

  • 5:14 is like Bach, and then at 5:43 beautiful transition to Elton John-like gospel-like funky gooving! I love this track. My favorite track on the Tokyo concert DVD!
