I'm not pregnant, but I look forward yo having a baby in my mid to late 20's. I'm not a fan of needles, but I think I'd rather have an epidural than a natural. Can anyone explain to me what a water birth is?

Looking forward to doing this in the future...as an anesthesiologist :)....I personally could not handle a needle being shoved into my spine.

Yea, i must say, it helped me alot.. and when a doctor recommendes to use it i'd say- go for it ! :)

Don't be afraid of an epidural, it ends the pain. The problem is that you are watching something that usually only the Dr. sees. I had 3 children and 2 epidurals, I prefer to have an epidural any day. The pain you suffer is only temporary, you end up with a child for life. People think the hard part is labor/delivery. It is the raising them and even when they are adults you still have them in your life. Don't watch so many birth scenes, everyone is different.
