Pastór de Lasala improvises during this photo essay of the restoration of the 1890 Puget organ in the Chapel of Kincoppal-Rose Bay. This is an attempt at giving an understanding of the very complex process which comprises a restoration which aims at reviving a notable instrument built by the great 19th century French organ builder, Eugène Puget. It may be one of the most travelled organs in Australia, having made its way here in 1905 following the religious upheaval in France at the time, then back to France for restoration work and then returned to its home in Sydney.

Nice Organ - seems like all the wood is brand new for this restoration except for the facade.

The chests are brand new, the rear panels, as are some of the oak side panels, the swell boxes (except the shutters), parts of the oak console. Examples of Puget's work were examined in order to replicate what was lost in the 60s.
