Lab created real diamonds, not mined, yet real.

Compare this video (Gemesis diamonds) to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=021v4BsNyZ4 (Apollo diamonds, 2 parts). Different techniques, different results. Gemesis diamonds are mostly yellow due to the Nitrogen in the atmosphere getting inside the crystal during the growing process. Apollo diamonds can be created in all colors including colorless depending on how much impurity is introduced in the growing chamber. e.g. add boron to make blue diamonds.

Note that synthetic diamonds are real diamonds made in lab. They possess identical physical and chemical properties of diamonds. They are real though not natural (read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synthetic_diamond ) Imitation or simulated diamonds are fakes using different materials to mimic the looks of diamonds. (read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_simulant )

  • Artificial diamonds are cheaper, but they're also "cleaner". We should be more informed about what's happening in the mines. Young children work there. Some awful wars happening right now in Africa are just for the diamonds' trades. All these far away tragedies are for our "decoration".

  • @ori3374 There is a movie called "Blood Diamonds".

  • I find it absolutely hysterical, that man-made diamonds, which are actually MORE perfect than mined diamonds are not nearly as costly. I hate humans sometimes.

  • @Kevstar19 Humans are willing to pay more for rare and genuine stuffs. They are willing to tolerate imperfection if they know it is rare. e.g. when you get an autograph from your favorite sport star, you won't complain about the ugly handwriting. I'd agree with you that I'd rather go for perfection than rarity.

  • @Kevstar19 I want to emphasize that mined diamonds are not rare. But mining cost is not cheap either. Imagine how many tons of rocks and ore are moved and processed to yield a few grams of diamonds. (1 carat = 0.2 gram) And only a fraction of those are in gem quality. Not all diamonds are born the same. The brilliance and fire of a good diamond can be spotted across a room. Cheap diamonds just don't have those properties.

  • lol yellow diamonds re least desirable of all diamonds. stop lying about their "high value"

  • @exitre Jewelry stores that you find in most shopping malls only carry diamonds in I, J or K color. Most people cannot tell their yellow tint until you compare with a D diamond side by side. Expensive fancy diamonds, on the other hand, are unmistakably yellow.

  • @pcmanio look up canary fancy diamonds on the Internet. They are natural yellow diamonds that cost much much more than colorless diamonds. Or walk into a top tier jeweler such as Tiffany or Cartier and ask for them. Regular jewelers don't sell colored diamonds because regular people cannot afford them. Follow the link in the description to watch about Apollo diamonds, they can be made in all colors including no color. Color does not determine whether it is natural or not.

  • Thatsssssssssssssssss a nice diamond you got there. It would be a sssssssssssshame if anything happened to it!

  • @utubeisshit523441 There are natural colored diamonds...

  • lol at the end "not that there's any need to tell your special lady"

  • This is up there with the wheel, stops blood diamonds and the average man can now afford really decent jewelry with thisnstuff on it, only an idiot would still pay thousands for real diamonds.

  • This is awesome! Plus, you're comfortable knowing it's not "Blood Diamonds". Thanks for sharing.

  • @cplai They should show it in the jewelleries...
