James Kalm returns after a break and wraps up this brief tour of the Armory Show with peeks at work by Jonathan Meese, Keith Mayerson, Gilbert and George, Rodney Graham Terry Winters Berry McGee and others. Not only was the art viewing good, but the characters attending the event were just as interesting.

  • you skipped right over deitch's booth.

  • Hey myRincon,

Sorry to miss Deitch's booth, there's a lot of stuff I couldn't fit in. Maybe I'll do a compilation vid with the most memorable pieces and booths. Five more fairs, approximately 350 more booths to go.

  • hehe, he called the penis painting "juicy"

  • omg that "God" painting with horns and genitalia crack me up at 0:58. Love it! #crazyisgood

  • This fair is where you find N. Y. State sales tax cheats........

  • wow, there is always a market for the untalented in the figurative market. The bronze box is scary. 2 minutes a dumpster and a can of spray paint.

  • Love your jerky videos and wouldn't swap them for anything else. Thanks!

  • too much mediocre figurative painting; meaning more is needed to find the unexpected still...

  • eva and adele are the "bald egos'

  • I hate to admit it, but I think you're entirely correct in your opinion, the definition of "cool" now translates into "conform." We praise the iconoclasts but we don't want to follow their example.

  • if i may, there is a literal-mindedness sweeping the nation, in my opinion. technology shuts down the poetry, the metaphorical and symbolist impulse. our president speaks in a very religiously literal way, 'god is with us'. i think this speaks volumes about the suppressing of the abstract impulse in all of us. i also think the power of our media is corrupting the youth into literal-mimicry of banal 'celebrity' personalities, look at the state of 'rock and roll', very sad. just my opinion:)

  • So who were the bald egos, anyway? Not me, but do you think people are moving away from abstraction?
