A slideshow depicting the journey of several moms through the hopeful anticipation of pregnancy, the hard work of labor, and the hollow emptiness of an unwanted cesarean. All of the pregnancy and labor pictures were donated by mothers whose labors ended in cesarean; in fact the majority of the pictures you see during the labors are from VBAC attempts that ended in another cesarean.

  • Thankyou :( sniff sniff me too.... 4/22/06 Edwin Csection after planning homebirth 3/6/08 homebirth turned Cesearean once again

  • Thank you for making this video. It touches my heart deeply. I mourn my birth losses.

  • Thanks for the vid. I cried through the whole thing..the song is very very fitting. I was forced into unecessary c-sections..im scarred to get prenant again. I dont want another sugery.

  • My eldest is 8 today, 8 years since my first late-labour c/sec. VBAC with DS2 born@36wks. DS3, 40wks & tho I fought for vbac, noone had faith that I could push a 40wk baby out. Ended up coerced into another late-labour c/sec.BUT I had a HBA2C in 2006, to my biggest, DS4. Each birth is unique, dont give up hope, fight for your dreams. I am glad I laboured: I gave my c/sec boys the best I could with the power I had at the time.

  • Thanks sista for putting an ebed code...it's on my myspace page now. I have watched this video hundreds of times, & I still cry.....

  • I had a sucessfull VBAC 15 months ago, you can see my video (although it is too dark).

My tip is to take a doula with you, make a birth plan and go to the hospital later on the labour, after 6cm, on active phase.

Trust yourselves, you can do it for you and your babies. Good luck!

  • No one's mentioned yet - but there is hope - about 70% of VBAC attempts are SUCCESSFUL! It's a tough fight, but don't give up! Bravo to these brave women for sharing their pain and letting people know that not all of us who had a c-section enjoy being part of the "sisterhood of the scar."

  • I'm attempting a VBAC any day now. I know the odds aren't good. The moment I arrive at the hospital they inform the operating theatre. That says alot. I just pray everything goes ok. Thanks for your vid it's powerfull

  • WOW, I cried throughout this vid. My heart truly bleeds for all these brave mamas, so wonderful of you to share these sacred moments. What matters most is that your babies were (and are) fully aware of your intent and they are truly blessed to have such brave and amazing mamas.

    Peace and blessings

    Cindy

  • I wanted to let everyone know I did have a successful vbac on November 28, 2006. There is still hope ladies. Many many prayers that our rights to have a vbac don't disappear as they are in many hospitals.
