So fun reading comments about efficiency and saving money. Isn't all that computer graphics?? You don't save a million on reshooting a scene like that.

@galaxypa Now that you mention it... Yeah. That's true! :D

@AccountofEpicness more like he was smart and saved money and other peoples time.

It's stock footage, you can buy that stuff anywhere. It just so happens, film directors such as Michael Bay and Speilberg have first dibs on such things. It's called a Hollywood film archive... Anyone could go in there, buy shots from other movies, not record a minute of footage, and make a movie.

Awww look at all the cute fans trying to make excuses

Do you realize how much it would freaking cost to be able to just film that 1 shot???? you cant just hire a fleet of the American navy every day... that would cost A FORTUNNNE to film. I would be surprised if that single shot WASN'T used in 10 movies over the next while.
You're cool. Why would he shoot the samething over again when they're really about the same thing. A shot like this would cost thousands of thousands of dollars to shoot again. They'd have to pay for the helicopter/plane, and of course the permits to go shoot the freaking aircraft carriers, not to mention labor for the huge crew operating everything.
It's his own footage.
