It's really funny how in the ACTUAL article I posted below. They mention the breed and the reporter just skips right over it.
I posted this one several months ago, but after learning recently about how screwed up the Media REALLY is when it comes to pit bulls. I noticed something in the reporting of this story.

So here it is........

Family Dog Takes Bullet to Save Family

The family has no idea why the man broke in or how their dog, D-boy, survived.By Amy Lester, NEWS 9
OKLAHOMA CITY -- A family dog made a lifesaving move when the family needed him most.

The pit bull is more than a friend, even more than a companion and family members said he's the reason they're alive.

The family's hero is their pit bull, D-boy.

Roberta Trawick was sitting on the couch when a man busted in, through the front door.

"He came in, pointed a gun at me and said, Get down on the ground'," Trawick said.

The next thing Roberta knew, D-boy ran in from another room, ready to attack.

"I was too scared to move, I didn't know what to think," Trawick said.

But before D-boy could get a hold of the intruder, the man started shooting.

"I seen him shoot the dog twice," Trawick said. "He shot him once in the head and he was still going after him and the guy shot him again."

D-boy was shot three times, altogether. The intruder, apparently spooked, took off out the front door.

"It is amazing, it's amazing that he want after that guy, and that I still have a family," family member Angelic Shoemaker said.

The family has no idea why the man broke in or how D-boy survived.

"The vet said if it wasn't for his hard head he wouldn't be here," Trawick said. "He's got a hard head."

That hard headed pit bull was determined to protect his family, and a family that owes a debt of gratitude to their four legged friend.

"I'm sorry my dog got shot, but I still got my family and we still got our dog," Shoemaker said.

Due to generous donations, D-boy's medical bills have been paid in full.

Police are still looking for the man who shot the family dog. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers at 405-235-7300.

  • damn love how u kept saying pitbull, those ppl really need 2 give the breed the recognition it deserve's

  • @invisiblebarriers Yea, it's funny how when a dog does something good & is an APBT they don't say the breed. But, when a dog that even looks similar to an APBT does something bad, it's all over the news! A lot of the dogs you hear about that have bitten people ARE NOT APBTs! I swear I think the news would call a poodle a "Pit Bull" if it helped their ratings.

  • If that pitbull had bitten to death somebody they would say ''a vicious PITBULL''...but he saved his family..so it's just a dog...because for them PITBULLS are killers, fighting machines and they can tear you apart just because you looked at them...i'm pretty sure if a pomeranian or a caniche bites someone they will say it's a pitbull.....

  • A pit bull was one of the first breeds after wolves were tamed. They were originally nanny's for young children during the 18th century. Pit bulls are naturally aggressive, all dogs are. They are breed from wolves. EVERY dog is aggressive and has power. But it's all in how you raise them. You put them in their place and they will act as loyal and kind as ever. I know this for a fact that all dogs are naturally aggressive.

  • Now that's an awesome dog my pit is the same she will do what ever she has to do to protect her family

  • perfect exsample of bias the news, fucking media rat scum, funny how they never mention pittbull when that is clearly his breed but if nearly any dog attacks someone they call em pits .. fucking pathetic narrowminded ignorant sociaty

  • Another example of biased media coverage. No wonder I hate news reporters.

  • An apbt knows no boundaries. All he knew was his family his pack was in danger. His game character allowed him to work through the pain of being shot. Excellent example of the breed, pure heart, and determination.

  • Yes, why is it that when a pit does a heroic deed, the media uses the term "family dog" but when anything resembling a "pit breed" does something wrong-the media is the first to PIT BULL us to death???

  • @PAWvideos They are ugly aren't they! lol

  • If my dog did that, i would take the distraction at it's advantage and tackle the intruder and punch him in the face repeatedly untill hes unconscious...ONLY for shooting my dog.
