I lived in Ohio and Texas and lived in the far east and North Carolina. I now Live in West Virginia for the past 30 years. Yes I came home to my roots. Where I was born where my soul is in the earth, the stream water, the leaves on the trees, the sound of the wind. I could right a book on all the wonderful things that are of my heart and mind about my home town and county and state. But most of you could not understand what I am saying...So I will stop.

No one appreciates what they have, until it's gone. Sure the thrills are natural like Summersville, the Gauley, or the New. But when you crave the simplicity and natural beauty in a place and in people. WV is where to be. The people are great, some of the best Italian food I've ever had, WVU football games are a blast. If you think WV is boring, then really you are a lazy person looking for something you can enjoy while sitting on your hind-end.

I live right on the banks of the New River, and I like the fact that WV has a low population. The more it grows, the more you will see our forests taken over by buildings. I hope we stay right where we are.

I am a California girl, but every time I visit my sister, who moved to WV more than 30 years ago, I feel immediately at home.  The staggering beauty of the state, together with its amazing people, make it a gem beyond words.

i am from mcdowell county wv,(the last county at the bottom of wv) and there is nothing here and probably never will be but i also have to say that its not about whats here for us to do its about all our family and friends here and all us ridin 4wheelers,dirtbikes,mud boggin, playin and all the old folks playin guitar late at night on there porches, it may not be much to city people but i am never moving away from hom
